Javelina Skilled Trades Academy

The Javelina Skilled Trades Academy (JSTA) is a nationally accredited workforce training center operated by the Workforce Development Department at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. The Academy delivers multiple hands-on training programs that prepare individuals for careers in high-demand fields such as construction, energy, broadband, and manufacturing. Participants gain technical skills, safety knowledge, and essential workplace competencies while earning industry-recognized certifications. JSTA also focuses on career readiness, providing access to apprenticeship opportunities, career coaching, resume development, mock interviews, and direct employer connections. With strong industry engagement and alignment to regional labor market needs, JSTA equips participants with the tools to succeed in today’s skilled trades workforce.

Registration Information

Ready to take the next step toward a career in the skilled trades? Registration is now open for upcoming classes. Whether you're new to the industry or looking to gain additional certifications, this is your opportunity to get hands-on training that leads to real job opportunities.

Training scholarships and financial aid are available for eligible participants. Support is offered for veterans, transitioning workers, low-income individuals, and other underserved populations. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding may also be used to cover training costs through your local workforce development board.
