Requirements
What Does It Take?
All Honors students complete a shared set of academic expectations, with flexible pathways to complete the program.
Foundational Requirements (All Students)
- Complete Honors coursework
- Earn a grade of B or higher in Honors coursework
- Maintain the required GPA based on institutional hours:
- 1-30 hours: 3.0 GPA
- 31-44 hours: 3.25 GPA
- 45+ hours: 3.40 GPA
- Complete an Honors Independent Project (HIP)
(Default for students admitted prior to Fall 2026)
- Complete a minimum of 15 Honors credit hours
- Follow all foundational requirements listed above
Students may choose to complete Honors through a flexible, experience-based model that recognizes learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Program Requirements:
- 9 Honors credit hours (1 credit hour = 1 point)
- 6 engagement points
- Honors Independent Project (HIP)
- Maintain GPA requirements listed above
Total completion = 15 points + HIP + GPA Requirement
